The DHA News Agency covered the work at our sculpture workshop ()

DHA News Agency Feature on Our Sculpture Workshop

The DHA News Agency team visited our workshop in Erzurum to film our production process, ongoing projects, and completed works. During the visit, the general atmosphere of our workshop, the materials we use, and sculptures at different stages of production were recorded. The DHA team also examined our work closely and interviewed our sculptor.

Several sculptures in the clay modeling stage were filmed in detail during the news feature. Doctor and nurse sculptures, an elderly man figure, a Gazi Osman Pasha sculpture, and Atatürk busts were among the works examined by the production team. The large saber-toothed tiger sculpture attracted particular attention. At the time of filming, the clay model of the tiger was approaching the final stages of completion.

The Journey of Sculptures from Clay Modeling to the Final Work

The production of a sculpture begins with shaping the design and basic form in clay. During the clay modeling stage, the proportions, facial expression, anatomical structure, and overall posture of the figure are carefully checked. Corrections made at this stage help ensure that the following production steps proceed smoothly.

The elderly man figure and the large saber-toothed tiger sculpture filmed by DHA showed different aspects of this process. Once the clay models are completed and all necessary checks are made, they are prepared for molding and casting. The material is selected according to the size of the work, its intended location, and the required durability.

Doctor, Nurse, Historical Figure, and Animal Sculptures

Our workshop does not focus on only one type of sculpture. In addition to profession-themed works such as doctor and nurse figures, we also create special character designs such as elderly man sculptures. Gazi Osman Pasha sculptures and Atatürk busts, produced as historical figure works, are among the projects where portrait details and distinctive facial expressions are especially important.

The large saber-toothed tiger sculpture is one of the special projects that reflects our approach to animal figures. In a large-scale figure such as this, the anatomical structure, muscles, head and jaw forms, teeth, and overall sense of movement must be considered together. Every detail completed on the clay model forms the basis for the molding and casting stages that follow.

Heykel Production and Our Projects Discussed in the DHA Interview

During the interview, our sculptor explained the types of work produced in our workshop and the destinations to which our sculptures are sent. The interview covered many subjects, from figures in different sizes and busts to relief works, custom orders, and large-scale outdoor projects.

Every sculpture project is planned according to the clients needs and the intended location. Different sizes and materials are considered for interiors, school and institutional gardens, parks, public squares, and private projects. Every stage, from the initial design and mold preparation to production and surface finishing, is carefully managed in our workshop.

Our Sculpture Workshops Production Approach

The visit by the DHA News Agency gave us the opportunity to present our production process and daily working environment in greater detail. The footage showed not only completed works but also models that were still in the clay stage and actively being developed. This allowed viewers to see the journey of a sculpture from the initial idea and clay model to the completed work.

Every project in our workshop is evaluated individually in terms of its dimensions and details. While durability and supporting structures are considered for large figures, facial expression and likeness are emphasized in bust and portrait works. The material and production method are selected by taking into account the location where the sculpture will be installed and the conditions under which it will be used over time.
