Volkan DOGAN - Company Manager and Sculptor
Volkan DOĞAN was born in 1982 in the Şenkaya district of Erzurum, Türkiye. After completing his primary and secondary education in his hometown, he began his formal education in sculpture art in 2005. In 2009, he graduated as the second-ranked student from the Sculpture Department of Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts and, in the same year, started his master’s degree at the Institute of Social Sciences. Throughout his academic life, he participated in numerous art events and stood out with his artistic and academic achievements.
Professional Experience and Projects
Since 2005, Volkan Doğan has been producing monument, sculpture, relief, ceramic, and painting projects for public institutions and organizations. He is widely recognized for his monument and sculpture works realized in different regions of Türkiye. The artist has participated in many national and international group exhibitions, symposiums, art workshops, and work-shops, and actively shares his experience with younger artists.
Awards and Achievements
The artist has received awards in four national competitions. These include the Achievement Award at the 71st State Painting and Sculpture Competition in 2012, third place at the 7th National Snow Sculpture Competition, an Honorable Mention at the Atatürk University Sculpture Competition in 2010, and third place at the Sarıkamış 1st Snow Sculpture Competition in 2008. These awards are clear indicators of his mastery and original approach to sculpture art and represent only a part of his artistic success.
Studio and Artistic Practice
Volkan Doğan, the founder of the Sculpture Workshop and Heykel.org, and one of the most skilled sculptors in Türkiye, continues his artistic practice in his own studio. In addition to fiberglass and clay works, he produces sculptures using bronze casting, marble carving, and contemporary materials. The artist approaches both his individual projects and commissioned works for public institutions with the same level of dedication and craftsmanship.
